Proper PH for more enjoyable swimming
The PH without getting into all the scientific details of the human eye is between 7.2 and 7.4. Therefor if you keep the PH of your pool water at this level you can help avoid swimmers burning eyes. While most people think that high chlorine levels are to blame for such things as burning eyes, green hair and a host of other problems. 99.9% of the time it is maintaining an improper PH level. Always keep your PH between 7.2 and 7.6. Test your water using either fresh reagents or test strips. If it's high and a required amount of muratic acid. If it's low add a required amount of soda ash or baking soda. I think you'll a better swimming environment when the proper PH is maintained. Remember that plaster pools have a greater problem with PH change than do vinyl or fiberglass.
